Relocating a Fish Tank? It’s Doable with These Steps

Relocating a Fish Tank It’s Doable with These Steps

Most of the time, we will move regular furniture, boxes full of books, clothes, dishes, etc. However, there will be items that will be more complicated to relocate, for example, relocating a pool table or a fish tank. Fish tanks are, of course, even more, difficult to carry around because of water and the life inside them. Whether you are relocating locally or moving cross-state, this will pose itself as a real challenge. Fortunately, with the right approach and preparation, relocating a fish tank won’t be a mission impossible. So, what are the steps? Let’s check them out.

Empty the tank

You will need the supplies for emptying like fishnet, siphon hose, buckets, and other packing supplies.

Move the Fish

This is a complex process, but you can get through it. After you turn off the filters and remove them, take the fish out of the tank. Fish can get easily stressed so before you dabble with other components, take them out and make sure they have some tank water in their temporary containers. Then, get rid of the rest of the water, sand, etc.

Packing the Fish Tank

Since the tanks are extremely fragile, they will need the appropriate support. The fish tank will need the appropriate cardboard box, as well as padding inside, styrofoam on the bottom of the box (before putting the tank in), and possibly a bubble wrap layer around the tank before it’s in the box. Label the box as very fragile.

Relocate With Care

For additional questions or worries you have about relocating this challenging item, you can always consult with your Chicago moving team. Also, before the transport, the movers should know which box is the fish tank so they know where to place it in the truck.

Reassemble As Soon As Possible

Relocating the fish tank is enough stress for your fish pets, and that’s why you should make sure to reassemble it as quickly as you can. Good luck!
