Aside from being stressed, moving to a new home or office is so exciting. It’s such a great feeling to know you can order new furniture, redecorate and adjust the space to fit your needs. Whether it’s a corporate relocation, or moving home down the block, it will take the serious organization, purging, and cleaning the new (as well as the old) space either way. Relocation during COVID-19 makes us more mindful about the sanitization and cleanliness of the space, but we should clean the space properly regardless of it. Let’s see how!

Go from top to bottom

Dust, grime, and germs settle on all surfaces, whether they are high or low. However, for easier managing of the space, going from the highest to the lowest points will give you more control. Check every corner, ceiling to floor, and clean it in a detailed way – even the walls!

Deep-clean if needed

Some stains or surfaces can’t get away with simple wiping or regular cleaning products. Persistent stains or even odor (for example, if the previous owners had pets) need deep cleaning. If you are new to removing some stains or refreshing the space in such a way, do your research online or even consult professionals on it.

Kitchen and Bathroom

These two rooms in our new (and old) space are the ones that need more attention with cleaning because of their nature – those are the places where we eat and clean ourselves, so they need to be well-maintained. Deep-clean these spaces and disinfect the areas, especially the bathroom, which can be a breeding ground for the germs.

Disinfect

With all the seriousness that the coronavirus is, we need to make sure to protect not only ourselves but also the professional movers who will come in to help us carrying around the furniture. Make sure to sanitize all the surfaces one might touch before the relocation team comes. Also, protect yourselves with the masks and provide hand sanitizers!
